Welcome to Vaizian™, the Bayesian decision-making tool for medical diagnostic professionals. The Vaizian software considers all symptoms and signs, the ECG, and lab tests. The computer uses probability to calculate likelihood ratio (LR) evidence values. Vaizian weighs all the medical evidence for each diagnosis by adding up the log(LR) values – both for and against.
Uniquely, Vaizian can visually explain its reasoning to the ED physician. What is the evidence for each symptom or test, at each considered diagnosis? Vaizian displays these evidence values in a heatmap, for rapid visual assessment of diagnoses and the contrasts between them. The user can probe the evidence, visually exploring underlying probabilities and error rates.
